A group of bodybuilders in Miami who get involved in a kidnapping and extortion scheme. The movie is based on a series of articles by Pete Collins that were published in the Miami New Times in 1999.
The story follows Daniel Lugo (Mark Wahlberg), a schemer who was recently released from prison for Medicare fraud. He teams up with musclemen Paul Doyle (Dwayne Johnson) and Adrian Doorbal (Anthony Mackie) to kidnap and extort a wealthy businessman named Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub).
